As a sign of gratitude to all who associate and collaborate with the Salesian College of Higher Education (SCHE), a concert on “Mercy not Revenge” was staged on August 6 and 7 at Fr. Paul Bernick Memorial Auditorium.
In commemoration of the Year of Mercy, Fr. Tom Karthik sdb, Rector of SCHE, had scripted a one-act play entitled “Mercy not Revenge,” which was acted out to “drive home the urgent need of mercy and forgiveness in our wounded society and bring about healing and peace in our regions,” stated a press release received here.
The programme also featured many artists who performed multi-media presentation, dances, songs, mime, instrumental and choir-piece. The wide variety of entertainment was directed by Fr. Gyan Sandeep Kujur sdb, Vice-Principal and counsellor of SCHE.
The first day was attended by students, hostellers and villagers from Salesian College youth centres. On the next day, the crowd consisted of neighbouring institutions, benefactors and well-wishers. About 1,300 people participated in the two-day entertainment extravaganza, it was informed.
