The International Youth Fellowship (IYF) conducted “Mind Education” at Salesian College of Higher Education (SCHE) on 26th November at Paul Bernick memorial Hall. Director of IYF Nagaland International Mind Education specialist Hyeonyong Choi along with seven students of which six are from South Korea and one from Thailand animated the programme.
In his welcome speech, Principal of SCHE Dr. Fr. Policarp Xalxo said, “Interaction with foreign students and inputs on Mind Education will definitely enhance one’s thinking and help to achieve greater things in life.”
Speaking to the students, Hyeonyong said, “Change of Perspective brings change of life. Difficulties are not negative but they are opportunities to be successful in life. Today, the society needs persons who think and look differently with a vision to achieve and prosper. Our situations and circumstances cannot be changed but our attitude to life can be changed.” Besides, he narrated success stories of the founder of Hyundai Jooyoung Jeong, the founder of Pansonic Matsushita Konosuke and shared some of the challenges that he overcame in life. He also emphasized that change of mind can even deepen in one’s faith in God.
The programme saw multi-media presentation, a dance performance by the Korean and Thai students, and an instrumental. The students were also divided into four groups and learned the basics of Thai language, Taekwondo, dance and Korean Song. The animation touched upon three vital aspects: intellectual, emotional and spiritual growth.
