Br. Sebastian and Br. Dominic attended spiritual orientation course from 30th to 31st July 2016 at Don Bosco Headquarter, Dimapur, Nagaland. Total of 26 teaching faculty from other Don Bosco Centres participated in the event. Fr. Jonas Kerketta Director of Social Communication spoke on the the importance of ‘Being constantly present with the young people whether be in the school or college or family.’ He urged participants to cultivate active and creative presence among the young people so that they are not misled to commit anti-social activities.
On the second day Fr. Nestor Guria, (Director) of Don Bosco Dimapur addressed the participants and urged them to be committed to the cause of educating young people. There were two sessions in the morning. Fr. Varghese Chittilappilly one of the resource persons dealt on effective teaching strategies and building self-esteem. He said that the practice of self-acceptance, self-responsibility, self-assertiveness, living purposely and personal integration will help in building good self-esteem. The second session was animated by Fr. Jonas on Print Media. He spoke on various topics such as, characteristics of news, basic writing structures, headlines, lead writing, news gathering, and the importance of writing.
