A total number of ten participants from Salesian College of Higher Education, Dimapur attended two day National Seminar conducted by the Department of Political Science and Department of Sociology, Don Bosco College Golaghat in collaboration with Salesian College Sonada. The theme of the seminar was “Conflict in South Asia: Its Consequences and Implications” and had the participation of more than 30 universities and colleges. It was two day rigorous interface covering various themes in tune with the theme of the seminar, which was held on the 16th and 17th of March. Four students from the Department of Political Science and another four from the Department of Sociology along with two faculties of the college attended and participated in the seminar. Dr. Tiatula Ozukum, Assistant Prof. Department of Sociology presented a paper entitled “Education in Times of Conflict: A Study of Atoizu in Nagaland while Mr. Dominic K Khanyo, Assistant Prof. Department of Political Science also presented a paper entitled “From a Realist Security Paradigm Towards a Neo-Liberal Approach: A study of Armed Conflict in North East India with a Focus on the State of Nagaland and the Prospects for Pragmatic Resolution”. The seminar had active participation from the students as well as the faculty which was packed by discussions and debates on each sub themes of the seminar.
