Joining the rest of the Country, Salesian College of Higher Education (SCHE) celebrated Teachers’ Day to honour its teaching faculty on 5th Sept. 2017 at SCHE auditorium. The student council saw to the details of the programme. Addressing the students, Principal of Salesian College of Higher Education, Fr. Dr. Policarp Xalxo exhorted both the students and teachers to strive towards excellence and quality education. He also placed on record, the hard work and dedication of the teachers in imparting knowledge and values for the betterment of the students. In his speech, Rector of SCHE, Fr. Tom Karthik said that teachers play a vital role in making society a better place to live in. The objective of a good teacher is to enable the students to learn, grow and live a good stable life in the society, he mentioned. On behalf of the faculty, Miss Vitsino Haikam, Asst. Prof. of SCHE, thanked all the students for their affability and respect, and for honouring the teachers in a fitting manner. She said that all the teachers take a pledge to give their best and to this end co-operation of students is sought. The programme also witnessed other colourful events: songs, video presentation, dances, teachers’ day address, skit, comedy, vote of thanks, friendly Basketball match between the staff and the students. The day ended with a sumptuous lunch for the teachers.
