PLANTATION AND SOCIAL WORK ON THE OCCASION OF 150th BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF MAHATMA GANDHI

“It is our social responsibility as citizens of India to help fulfil Gandhiji’s vision of Clean India, by his 150th birth anniversary in 2019,” said our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi. To fulfil this clarion call of the Prime Minister, On 2nd October 2019, the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, The Salesian College of Higher Education, Dimapur organized a Social work and tree plantation programme in and around the college campus. 54 students and staff volunteered to participate in this nation-wide event. The work began around 09.00 a.m. The students assembled in the Basketball court for the division of the work. The students cleaned the road to the college premise, its surrounding and the plantation of Mahogany saplings. The work lasted for two hours and ended by 11.00 a.m. with some refreshments for the staff and the students.
