The meeting of Parents-teachers-students was held at Salesian College of Higher Education on 27 March 2018. Fr. Chacko Karinthayil Director of Rehabilitation Centre Chumukdima and Shri S. Nitovi Chishi Joint Director Geology and Mining Dimapur were the resource person and special invitee for the function. Speaking on the occasion Fr. Chacko the resource person said, education is building relationship between students, parents and teachers. Parents and teachers must communicate with the present generation. There has been a communication gap due to rapid progress in information technology, and parents, students and teachers find themselves alienating each other. Shri S. Nitovi Chishi, Joint Director, Geology and Mining Govt. of Nagaland said, students must do something to create better tomorrow. He said, no matter how one is born or brought up, the responsibility is to make our future better than yesterday. He urged the students to make extra time by saving time.
During the program awards and certificates were given to students. Khetoka Chishi of 6th semester was given Paul Bernick Memorial award which is the highest award in the college. Sunil Bara and Thovito were awarded with Scholars award for writing articles and publishing articles. Certificates for 100% per cent attendance, Student Forum, article writing competition and inter-club champions were given away.
There were about 90 parents/guardians who turned out for the meeting. After the meeting parents, teachers and students had close informal meetings and giving away of admit cards.
