Salesian College of Higher Education (SCHE) took part in the “New India Pledge,” along with the rest of the country on 9th August 2017. Sr. Ivy D’Souza FMA, a veteran educationist who has served in North-East India for 62 years, of which 20 years as Principal of Little Flower School, Kohima, was the Chief Guest.
Addressing the students, Sr. Ivi briefed on the history of Quit India Movement. She also shared on the importance of justice and invited all the enlightened youth to speak up for the rights of the less privileged section of the society.
The pledge was administered by Daniel Jangpuiphun, President of NSS unit. Earlier, Fr. Dr. Policarp Xalxo welcomed the Chief Guest and urged the students to be responsible citizens. Sr. Rita vice-president of NSS proposed the vote of thanks. The event concluded with the National Anthem.
