With the intention of sharing values and spreading joys of life, the Bosco Club of Salesian College of Higher Education visited Dimapur District Jail on 2nd September, 2017. A contingent of 17 students under the coordination of Br. Dominic Ralte, Asst. Professor, conducted a value based program for the inmates of the district jail lasting for an hour and half at the jail hall. The program comprised of a prayer service, sharing the Word of God, inspirational video clips and entertaining items. Mrs. Mhonbeni Patton, the Chaplain of the prison, welcomed the college contingent and began the program with a prayer. The moments of prayer that followed invited the participants to realize that they are children of God no matter of what has happened in their lives. Sharing the word of God, Br. Probin Kullu exhorted all to sense the divine in everything and highlighted the urgency of righting wrongs in the society with firm determination and great courage. Thereafter, the inmates were entertained by the students through their lively dance, action songs and a choral piece. The program ended with a motivational clip which invited the viewers to realize their identity as human beings and thus consider their fellow human beings in their daily living. Beams of joy could be seen on the faces of the participants when the program concluded with a prayer and light refreshment.
