On 8 July, 2018, a seminar on ‘The Role of Children and Parents in The Family’ was organized in Singrijan Youth Centre by Salesian College of Higher Education Youth services. Around 90 to 100 participants gathered for the occasion. The programme began at 10.00 a.m. with the talk on theme by Rev. Fr. Chacko, The Director of Shalom, Chumukedima, Dimapur. At around 11.00 a.m there was a holy mass presided over by Rev. Fr. Chacko. In his homily, he highlighted his reflections on the theme ‘My grace is sufficient for you and My power is best in weakness’. Around 12.30 p.m. Br. George animated on the theme with the reflections from the holy Father Pope Francis. Both of them stressed on family prayer, unity and forgiveness. They further stressed on love which is the essence of the family. It heals the wounds and binds the family members together. The main pillar behind all this is ‘The Word of God’. It will stand at every joyful and sorrowful moment of life.
After which vote of thanks was proposed by Br. Petrus Nanwar and Catechist Tarcisius. The people were enriched with the new insights. They were grateful to the resource persons and the organizers. The programme was concluded with the screening of the film ‘Jyoti’. All departed to their homes with smile on their faces and enrichment in their hearts and minds.
